“After about 12 years working in all aspects of construction, I decided to start my entrepreneurial journey with a small landscaping business. I learned how to market myself and build relationships with my clients. This was not without a few hard-learned lessons along the way and if it wasn’t for those years beating the pavement, I wouldn’t have the qualities I continue to build today.”
Jeremy's interest in construction began at a young age when his uncle, who owned a small construction business, would occasionally work on his grandparents' property. Being a typical boy, Jeremy always wanted to help and his uncle would sometimes give him a set of tools to get his hands dirty. It wasn't long before Jeremy was digging in his grandfather's toolbox to build something, albeit without permission. At 16, he was finally able to work during summer and winter breaks at his uncle's business, and he was hooked.
"Those years laid the foundation for my future businesses," Jeremy explains. "I saw where my uncle and other contractors he worked with would fail to execute or overlook things. I took everything I had learned that was positive over the years and created a vision for JD Contracting."
